Copying your files from a Picture Keeper to an external hard drive isn’t difficult. First, select the appropriate steps for your computer’s operating system below.
I have Windows
- Plug the Picture Keeper into your computer.
- Display the files as shown in the screenshot below, but do not start the program.
- Double click to open the Backups folder. The Backups folder contains all the pictures. You can just copy it or follow the next steps.
- Double click to open the name of your computer.
- Double click to open Drive C or D.
- Double click to open User.
- Double click to open Username.
- You may need to open a couple more folders.
- Double click to open the folders with your pictures.
- From here you can copy your picture folders to another disk or computer.
I have OS X / MacOS
- Plug the Picture Keeper into your computer.
- Open Finder window
- Open the Backups Folder. This Backups folder can be copied to the external drive or follow the next steps.
- Open the folder that is the name of your Mac.
- Open Photos/iPhoto or Users depending where you store the Pictures on your Mac.
- You should see all the folders.
- From here you can copy your picture folders to another disk or computer.
