My iPhoto Library isn’t being backed up. What can I do?

Are you an iPhoto user that has not upgraded to Photos?

Are you using OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite) or higher?

If you have a newer version of Mac OS X with the Photos app included, Picture Keeper expects that you will be using Photos instead of iPhoto. If you have not migrated to Photos and still use your iPhoto library separately, please follow these instructions so that Picture Keeper can find it and back it up.

  • Start the Picture Keeper Program.
  • Update the Picture Keeper software if prompted.
  • Click Search Options in the left sidebar menu.

  • Click on the Photos Library selection under the Libraries Heading.
  • Does your screen display the “No Photos Library Found” message?
  • Click Save Settings to go back to the main screen

  • Click the Gear icon at the top right corner to open a menu.
  • Click Enable iPhoto Library.

  • Now, click Start Backup.

Picture Keeper should now find and back up your iPhoto library.
