What is a Mobile Helper? – Backing up over Wifi

Do you have a Picture Keeper Connect drive?

If you do, you never need to use the “backup over wifi” option in the app or Mobile Helper app. Simply plug in your Picture Keeper Connect, and click Start Backup. If you need additional help, please contact Support.

In older versions of our Picture Keeper Connect app, backing up over a wifi connection was an option. A separate Mobile Helper app was installed on a computer to receive the files over wifi from your mobile device.  This allowed a user to move pictures from their mobile device to a computer so that Picture Keeper could back them up during a regular computer backup.  Unfortunately, this feature is being phased out of our apps due to unreliable backup functionality and will be completely disabled in the near future.

If you are still using an older version of our app with the “backup over wifi” option and you need the Mobile Helper app for your computer, please contact Support directly and we will provide you a download link.  However, please note that this functionality is no longer supported and will be discontinued in the near future.  You can still transfer pictures from your mobile device to your computer using your USB charging cable.  If you need assistance with this, just ask.  We’re always happy to help.
